The Abigail Coffee Table is made of 40 individual lengths of Tasmanian Oak dowel lovingly hand-finished. The dowels surround a specially designed inner structure, giving them a floating appearance and providing an internal area that can be seen through the glass top.

1. What Is Tasmanian Oak?
Tasmanian oak is a species of timber, rather than an oak grown in Tasmania (just to keep you on your toes!). Tasmanian oak trees can be grown anywhere that has a suitable climate, but most of Australia’s Tasmanian oak does come from Tasmanian forestries.
Tasmanian oak is typically an orange tone, but this can change depending on the finish that gets applied after manufacture.
2. What Makes Tasmanian Oak Great For A Coffee Table?
Our Abigail Coffee Table makes great use of the Tasmanian Oak dowels. 40 Dowels surround a specially cut base to create a solid dowel base supporting the glass top coffee table piece.

The glass top Abigail coffee table is 500mm in diametre and 500mm tall. As always we can provide a quote to make a custom sized Abigail glass top coffee table or even a top in another material.
